Kristina Cornell
Her raw, real and fresh approach penetrates the soul, pounding Kristina’s passionate rocking-roots country onto the scene. With a personality that is so warm and easy going, her infectious laugh and witty humor are as unforgettable as her voice.
Kristina teamed with singer, songwriter and producer Dave Gibson of the legendary Gibson Miller Band to guide her Lofton Creek album debut. It’s a Girl Thing found Kristina collaborating with a successful round of songwriters, penning six songs on the release. Cornell’s written with talented writers including Curb Records artist Billy Dean, former Sony/BMG artist Brad Martin, former Mercury Records artist Daisy Dern, Jimmie Lee Sloas, Jimmy Yeary, Phil Madera and many others. "My songs were written as I encountered real life issues. The key was to face it with a lot of laughter!" giggles Kristina as she flashes that fabulous smile before adding her defining snort.
The youngest of four, Kristina was reared in the small Mount Pleasant community outside Pittsburgh, PA. The household was a mixture of culture as her tight knit family was a combination of German and Italian heritage. Relocating to Nashville when her father took an early retirement, Kristina quickly jumped into the music industry signing a publishing agreement and securing representation at a modeling and talent agency in just a few weeks. She landed acting roles in videos for Terri Clark, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, and many other leading acts. "Performing is all I know how to do," says Kristina. "Seeing three and a half minutes of music change someone’s life means everything."
Kristina has taken stage across the nation including a segment with Disney Cruise Lines and a radio tour spanning the south and east coast. Lofton Creek label president, Mike Borchetta stated, "her voice and songs are so unique and appealing, like no other in Nashville." The current album is a diverse combination of heart-felt ballads, like the first single Little Red Balloon, inspired by the September 11th tragedy, and up-tempo enjoying-life anthems, It’s a Girl Thing and Real Man. Wynonna Judd, Bonnie Raitt, Tammy Wynette, Patty Loveless, and K.T. Oslin are just a few of the female powerhouses that impacted Kristina’s sound. With an enduring, phenomenal work ethic and energy, Kristina’s genuine talent is determined to peal through the packaged talent of the entertainment industry.
"Life ain’t no dress rehearsal," says Kristina. "We get one go round... make it good and be happy!"

("It’s A Girl Thing" is) Very snappy! The band cooks with gas, and the rollicking gal-power lyric is a blast. I'd program this in a heartbeat.

Kristina Cornell performed during the meeting of the Country Radio Broadcasters’ Board and CRS-39 Agenda Committee and created a real buzz with that very tough audience. She’s already had success in the Pittsburgh area (where we are both from) and I’m rooting that the rest of the country will discover her soon.

Kristina Cornell has been nothing but a pleasant surprise from the moment she walked into XM. She and Dave Gibson made us take notice during their conference room performance. We put Little Red Balloon on Highway 16 and immediately started taking phone calls. I knew we had something when a male truck driver told me the song even made him cry. I’ve seen lots of artists come and go in this business, but I hope Kristina is here for a long time.

Kristina’s got it! By "It," I mean the whole package --- the voice, the look, the ability, the attitude, and, most importantly, the passion for country music. She blew me away with Little Red Balloon, and Tucson’s KIIM-FM listeners agree. Kristina has what it takes. Can’t wait to hear more from this hot new artist!

Some people are born with a gift which is an unmistakable, but indefinable ability to reach out and communicate to a solitary soul or an audience of millions. Kristina Cornell struck me with her irresistible personality and a voice and style that draws you in and doesn’t let you go until the last fading note.

Kristina, don’t give your cell phone number to any other dj’s! I want to still be able to get a hold of you when your song hits #1. This song is like high test gasoline for the request lines and it doesn’t cost 3 bucks a gallon.
